Problem: A client had decided to move to a PC based system. The system did not cover everything they had before on their green screen IBM system so they kept using their old system. Later they decided to move off of their PC system keeping a series of legacy systems going to provide archival look-up. This proved to be inefficient and expensive.
Solution: They needed help migrating the data from both their IBM system and their PC system into a unified historical look-up. KDI migrated both the PC system and the IBM System/36 data into MySQL tables and built PHP look-up functions.
A client look-up and a vendor look-up provided the master file information as well as a drill down to the transaction level. Information from both systems are now available in a consistent web based format. It gives users easy access to historical data and eliminated the costs associated with keeping two legacy systems.
